The Question Every Boom! Box GTS Owner Asks Before Ordering
If the touchscreen on your 2019-2023 Harley-Davidson Boom! Box GTS is ghost touching, cracked, bubbling, or no longer responding, a digitizer replacement is usually the fix. But before ordering, a lot of riders have the same hesitation: will fixing the touchscreen mess with the Bluetooth pairing, navigation data, or CarPlay setup that took forever to configure in the first place?
The short answer is no. Here's why, based on exactly what this repair does and does not touch.
What a Digitizer Replacement Actually Is
A touchscreen digitizer is the outer touch-sensitive glass layer that controls touch input. It sits on top of the display and senses your finger. It is a separate component from the radio's electronics, its LCD, its programming, and its Bluetooth or GPS hardware.
Replacing the digitizer means removing and replacing that touch layer while keeping your original radio, LCD, programming, settings, and vehicle integration in place. No radio programming is required when replacing the digitizer on your original unit.
Bluetooth, Navigation, and CarPlay: What This Repair Does Not Touch
- Bluetooth: This is not an amplifier, GPS module, Bluetooth module, or CarPlay repair. It will not fix a Bluetooth issue, and since it does not interact with the Bluetooth hardware or your paired settings, it will not cause one either.
- Navigation: Your original radio and its existing programming and vehicle integration stay intact, so saved routes, navigation data, and GPS configuration are not affected.
- CarPlay: A digitizer replacement will not fix a CarPlay issue, because it is limited to the touch-sensitive glass layer and does not interact with that part of the system.
What This Repair Is, and Is Not
This is: a touchscreen digitizer replacement, meaning it replaces the outer touch-sensitive glass layer that controls touch input.
This is not: a complete radio, a complete LCD display, a software update, or a repair for an amplifier, GPS module, Bluetooth module, or CarPlay. It will not repair a failed LCD image, black screen, no power condition, audio failure, Bluetooth issue, navigation issue, CarPlay issue, or motherboard problem.
How to Know If a Digitizer Replacement Is the Right Fix
If your Boom! Box GTS radio still powers on, the display image is clear, and only the touch function is failing (ghost touches, unresponsive input, cracked or scratched glass, bubbling, or delamination), a digitizer replacement is the correct repair path.
If the LCD image itself is distorted, black, flickering, showing lines, or missing entirely, further diagnosis is needed, since that points to a different component than the touch layer.
Fitment
The Cuescreens Boom! Box GTS digitizer is designed for select 2019-2023 Harley-Davidson Touring and Trike motorcycles equipped with the 6.5-inch Boom! Box GTS infotainment system, including Street Glide, Street Glide Special, Road Glide, Road Glide Special, Road Glide Ultra/Limited, Ultra Limited, Electra Glide Ultra Classic, Tri Glide Ultra, and CVO Touring models equipped with that radio. It is intended for radios associated with part numbers 76000783, P76000783, and P76000783B, and does not fit the older 6.5GT button-and-bezel radio or the 4.3-inch Boom! Box unless the motorcycle has already been retrofitted with a matching GTS radio. Always confirm your radio's part number and screen style before ordering.
