Commonly, we get calls from customer that are an issue that is totally unrelated to the Cadillac CUE system or the touch screen.
It is super important to understand the system design to prevent wasted time and misdiagnosis. The Cue screen is a clear glass panel- it doesnt display anything. If you are having system problems that you can see- its not related to the cue screen.
When the cue screen is working right, it responds where you touch. If its not working, it wont respond or responds randomly. Thats it.
This Red slash GPS issue is one of those unrelated common issues. It may have coincided with the screen replacement, but it is unrelated and replacing the touch screen again will not resolve the issue, it will simple waste a lot of time.
If there is no GPS, then your antenna on the top of the vehicle is not communicating.
Maybe its cloudy and you have no signal. Maybe the satellite is not available.
The best thing to do is simply wait and see if it comes back. You can try driving in a figure 8 in a parking lot as shown in your owners manual. Disconnect and reconnect the battery.
Sometimes the seal on the antenna leaks water in the connection and does not allow position lock.
If this issue persists over several weeks and you have done the above troubleshooting, I would start looking at this connection, and replace the cable or the antenna if you see any signs of corrosion.
